Сегодня в Lewis & Clark College в 8 часов вечера состоится концерт хора Resonance Ensemble. В приведенном ниже письме вы найдёте подробную информацию о концерте.
My name is Katherine FitzGibbon, and I conduct a professional choir
here in Portland, Resonance Ensemble. This Friday, we are performing a
concert that
features Stravinsky's "Les Noces," a modernist masterpiece about a
Russian village wedding. We'll be performing it in Russian, and we'd
love to reach out to the Russian community in the area to offer them a
special invitation and discount.
I write with a special invitation to the Resonance Ensemble concert
this Friday night at 8 p.m. at Lewis & Clark College's beautiful,
newly-renovated Agnes Flanagan Chapel. We will be performing a program
called "Blessed Unions," which features Igor Stravinsky's modernist
masterpiece "Les Noces" (The Wedding), with piano, a bevy of
percussionists, and a solo dancer. It's a thrilling work depicting a
Russian village wedding, and we'll be performing it in Russian. There
will be other gorgeous music, too, including Brahms, Durufle,
Rachmaninoff, and Pinkham's rhapsodic "Wedding Cantata," with texts
from the Song of Solomon.
We would like to offer you a special discounted ticket rate of 10% off
the ticket, if you use the promo code FRIEND. You can order tickets at
wwwresonancechoral.org, or at the box office Friday evening.
If you're interested in learning more about this, see
http://resonancechoral.org/blessedunionsapril2011.cfm. We're also a
Willamette Week pick this week. (Brett Campbell writes, "For the
culminating event of its first full season, the chorus offers one of
the 20th century's most dramatic artistic breakthroughs: Igor
Stravinsky's ballet cantata, Les Noces (The Wedding). Due to its
unusual forces (colossal chorus, piano, soloists and profuse
percussion), Les Noces isn't heard as often as his pioneering work,
The Rite of Spring, or even The Firebird or Petrushka, but can be as
thrilling, especially in performances by sensitive professional choirs
like this one. The concert also features a dancer and includes a more
recent wedding cantata by Daniel Pinkham.") And we'll be on
AllClassical's Northwest Previews show tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 p.m.
Tune in to 89.9 FM or allclassical.org.
Thanks, everyone - this is a project we're really proud of and are
hoping to share with you!
Best wishes,
Kathy
